National Men’s Health Week

  • Publish Date: Posted over 7 years ago

Happy National Men’s Health Week! At Medical Recruitment Strategies we care about your health and this week we are highlighting men’s health.  Share these 3 Men’s Health Tips!

  1. Stay on Top of Your Health

    • It is very important to schedule and keep your yearly checkups with your doctor. Pay attention to warning signs and symptoms including shortness of breath, chest pain, excessive thirst, and abnormal urination. If you have any of these symptoms, do not wait and schedule a visit with your PCP today!

  2. Quit Smoking

    • If you are a smoker, remember that it is never too late to quit. When you quit smoking, you will see immediate benefits. It also decreases your risk of heart disease, cancers, lung disease, and other illnesses. If you do not smoke, it is important to avoid smokers as second-hand smoke inhalation can cause similar health problems.

  3. Drink in Moderation

    • Moderation is key. We are not telling you to stop drinking alcohol entirely, but excess alcohol consumption is devastating to your health. Moderate drinking equals to about 2 servings per day for men. Studies have shown that men who have 2 servings a day of alcohol have a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease and it can boost creativity. When alcohol is taken in large amounts, it can negatively affect hormonal and inflammatory responses to exercise meaning it can make your muscles more susceptible to injury and unable to repair damaged proteins among other health issues.
