Provides professional nursing care to clients: - Observes, assesses and records inpatient's and outpatient's symptoms, reactions and progress; - Administers prescribed medications and/or ordered treatment plans, emergency care procedures for students, staff, and/ or visitors; - Provides health education (e.g., counseling, prevention); - Establishes a compassionate environment (e.g., providing emotional and psychological support to patients and families); - Provides first aid and/or CPR. Documents patient care and/or services: - Charts and records patient information and/or services rendered (e.g., clinical appointments, treatment records, Medicare reimbursements, diagnostic evaluations and programs). Protects patients and employees and assures quality of care: - Adheres to therapeutic standards; - Plans and implements patient care goals and measures health outcomes against patient care goals and standards; - Makes or recommends necessary adjustments; - Follows standards of care set by State Board of Nursing, Ohio Nurse Practice Act and other governing agency regulations; - Adheres to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures and controlled substance regulations; - Uses equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results; - Maintains nursing supplies inventory and anticipates needs (e.g., checking stock to determine inventory levels); - Places and expedites orders for supplies and verifies receipt;. - Provides health screenings and preventative programs. Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams: - Communicates information; - Responds to requests; - Builds rapport; - Participates in team problem-solving methods. Maintains professional and technical knowledge: - Attends educational workshop; - Reviews professional publications; - Establishes personal networks; - Participates in professional societies.

State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA/CNA)

Length of Assignment: 6-12 months / may extend further Hours per Week: 40hr (Possible Temp to Perm) Shift : Mon-Fri - 8-4:30pm - No weekends/Holidays Weekends: NONE Required : Listed on Ohio Nurse Aide Registry and possess CPR certification for the healthcare professional; 6 months of work experience as an STNA/CNA JOB DUTIES: Provide direct patient care and assist with provisions of personal hygiene and activities of daily living (i.e. feeds, bathes, dresses, moves/lifts patients, provides preventative skin care, brushes teeth, cleans/trims fingernails, changes bedding and incontinence pads/briefs, collects vital signs, measures height & weight, measures fluid intake/output); makes observations of patient condition and timely reports/documents all findings; assists with doctor's sick call and doctor's rounds; responds to emergency by providing emergency care and cardiopulmonary resuscitation; documents all patient care; makes beds; maintains cleanliness of patient area/equipment; escorts patients as needed; communicates with patients to assess and communicate patient needs; provides assistance to healthcare staff; reviews shift report from preceding shift(s); performs other duties as assigned.
