Registered Nurse

Fills in for psychiatric meetings as necessary & works with physicians on a rotating basis (e.g., setting up charts, verifying orders written from physician consults). Responsible for processing physician orders (e.g., labs, x-rays, medical appointments), enters physician's orders into computerized records & communicates change of resident status to appropriate interdisciplinary team members. Schedule follow-up care of residents with residents with physicians as needed & communicates medical appointments to appropriate personnel. Assess & reviews preventative health screening forms & ensures quarterly physical exams are completed on residents. Assists in feeding, grooming & self-care. Evaluates client and staff injuries & administers & records first aid as necessary. Responds to medical emergencies (e.g., first aid, CPR, psychotropic emergencies, etc.) & assists in decision making in supervisor's absence. Monitor health care charts on living areas to ensure proper follow-up & continuity of health care. Serves as member of the interdisciplinary team, including in collaboration with the client's physician pursuant to client health conditions. Submits reports to supervisor (e.g., IPP input, chart audits, psychotropic medication reviews, self-medication inputs & physical assessments). Develops, implements & evaluates client self-medication programs. Provides health teaching & direction to family, staff & clients as directed. Assists in orienting training of new staff. Conducts & participates in In-Service trainings sessions. Provides clinical oversight to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). Performs other related duties as assigned (e.g., Provides input on Unusual Incident Reports (UIRs), completes nursing department shift reports of client health conditions to ensure continuity of care, ensures proper maintenance & security of the drug cupboard as appropriate).

Physician Administrator-3

Length of Assignment: 10-12 months / may extend further Hours per Week: 40hr Shift: Day /Evening/ Night Weekend rotation : None Required Documents: Certificate to practice medicine in State of Ohio CPR / BLS Position Summary / Duties: Organizes medical staff [i.e., provides consultation to the organization's health care providers concerning the agency's ability to meet the psychosocial, medical and physical needs of the resident; coordinates nurse practitioner's work schedules, call dates for nights, weekends & holidays (on rotation basis) and serves in their absence himself. Meets on a regular basis with Pharmacy Operations Manager to ensure availability of current drugs and that all doctors use a standard list. Visits nursing units as needed; covers nursing units when scheduled doctor is not available; responsible for transfer of acute medical/surgical cases to local facilities in emergency. Assists in monitoring & evaluating the quality and appropriateness of medical services and patient care. Must insure (by VA requirement 10-3567B) annual physicals, chest x-rays and EKGs are completed; that all patient treatments are current, physician orders & progress notes are updated per ODH & VA standards, discharge summaries are made and coordinate rehabilitation treatment and progress. Coordinates transfer to V.A. hospitals in the Cincinnati, Chillicothe, and Dayton areas for consultation or more acute hospitalization. Coordinates referrals for specialty care at both the VAMC and area Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) as well as private specialty care in Brown and Clermont counties. Coordinates/collaborates with local hospitals, coordinate/collaborate with Hospice program. Confers with families & veterans regarding patient's prognosis & treatment. Participates on relevant committees to discuss goals & objectives and to integrate unit functions [(e.g. Quality Assurance (QA) and/or Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI), Medical Director meetings, compliance programs and other resident care committees)]. Reviews admission applications received for final approval and determine disability status of veteran residents. Assists as needed in development of ongoing in-service training for staff. Performs any additional job-related duties as assigned.
