Check To make sure your references are up to date

Whenever you start a new job hunt, contact each of your previous references and contacts and make sure that they are still available to be used as a reference. If they do not answer or get back to you, don’t use them as a reference, and create a new list. There are few things more damaging when a recruiter cannot get in touch with a reference for a candidate, or if the number or email address is incorrect. So before sending over the list, make sure all the phone numbers and email addresses are functional and up to date.
