A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a healthcare professional who provides basic nursing care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or physician. LPNs typically work in a variety of healthcare settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics, and private homes.

Some of the typical responsibilities of an LPN may include:

.Monitoring and recording patients' vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, and respiratory rate
.Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the healthcare provider
.Assisting patients with daily activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
.Helping patients to move and ambulate safely
.Documenting patient care and progress in medical records
.Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, such as RNs, physicians, and therapists, to develop and implement care plans
.Educating patients and their families about their health conditions and treatment plans
.Providing emotional support and comfort to patients and their families
To become an LPN, one must complete a state-approved nursing program and pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN). LPNs must also possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing compassionate care to their patients.
