About the Role:

We are seeking a MDS Manager (RN) to join our nursing administration team. This is a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely completion of Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments in compliance with state and federal regulations. The MDS Manager will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal care planning and reimbursement accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain current MDS status for each resident in accordance with the Omnibus Reconciliation Act, PPS, and Medicaid guidelines.
  • Provide ongoing education on MDS/RUGS systems to clinical and administrative staff.
  • Conduct focused documentation audits to ensure compliance with clinical, financial, and regulatory standards.
  • Serve as a liaison between medical providers, residents, families, and payers to support optimal reimbursement.
  • Screen residents and medical records to identify those at risk for advanced or acute care needs.
  • Ensure accurate, timely documentation and communication within the interdisciplinary care team.
  • Coordinate resident care conferences and participate in surveys, inspections, and audits by state and federal agencies.

Qualifications:

  • Current NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • RNAC (Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator) certification preferred
