Job Title: Long-Term Care Pharmacist - Closed Door Pharmacy
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday to Friday (weekends/holidays)
Environment: Closed Door Pharmacy - Not Patient Facing


Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacist to join our Long-Term Care (LTC) pharmacy team. In this fast-paced, closed-door environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate, safe, and timely medication dispensing services for various care facilities. This position is ideal for a pharmacist with a strong work ethic who thrives on providing high-quality pharmaceutical care behind the scenes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and execute daily pharmacy operations aligned with workflow, production quotas, and deadlines

  • Supervise pharmacy production staff to maintain workflow, accuracy, and delivery schedule

  • Perform clinical review of prescriptions for accuracy, therapy appropriateness, and interactions

  • Oversee sterile and non-sterile compounding processes per USP 797/795 standards

  • Handle ordering, inventory, and documentation of all controlled substances

  • Assist with emergency kits, Omnicell systems, and IV drug preparation

  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and support ongoing quality improvement initiatives

  • Participate in an on-call rotation for evening, weekend, and holiday coverage

  • Report and resolve medication occurrences and assist in drug recalls

  • Additional duties as required based on pharmacy location


Required Qualifications:

  • BS or Pharm.D. from an accredited School of Pharmacy

  • Active license to practice pharmacy in good standing (state of residence)

  • 1 to 3 years of pharmacy experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years of experience in long-term care pharmacy

  • Immunization certification

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced setting
