Note:

Client is looking for Pharmacy Manager for Orlando, FL/ Altamonte Spring FL who will prepare pharmaceutical prescriptions in an accurate and timely manner and provide related distributive and clinical pharmacy activities to provide services to specialty infusion therapy patients.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Directs pharmacy and operations functions to ensure effective operations
  • Sets standards of performance for area personnel, ensures adherence to all company philosophies, procedures and regulations
  • Ensures that all pharmacy operations, practices and procedures meet all licensing and standards requirements established by local, state and federal agencies
  • Prepares prescriptions, solutions, medications accurately and promptly
  • Conducts initial and ongoing assessment of specific patient, drug and disease information to identify real and potential drug-related problem or needs
  • Conducts and revises the patients plan of care
  • Prepares formulations for solutions/medications, and ensures the accuracy of the preparation; may oversee work of Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians and Interns
  • Participates in the preparation, distribution, security and maintenance of controlled substances
  • Monitors quality assurance programs in accordance with Company regulations, policies and procedures
  • Interfaces with physicians and referral sources as required
  • Serves as a drug information resource to the sales force and participates in team selling and sales support
  • Prepares papers, reports, etc., for Company management and professional publications and conferences
  • Maintains clinical skills and knowledge of pharmacotherapy and intravenous therapy by reviewing the literature and attending in-services, seminars and conferences
  • Ensures that all documentation necessary to support the billing process is completed and available in a timely manner
  • Selects, trains, develops and motivates a competent staff to procure, prepare and provide quality pharmacy services and medical supplies to patients and customers
  • Participates in branch management and inter-departmental meetings as required
  • Participates in development of the branch budget for pharmacy operations
  • Follows established channels of authority and communications throughout the organization
  • Participates in and maintains oncall schedule for pharmacists and covers as needed
  • Performs marketing support as requested
  • Adheres to all Company Policies, Procedures, and Standards of Conduct covered during initial orientation and referenced in branch handbooks, guides and manuals
  • Attends mandatory annual in-services that are required by current position held
  • Reports to the appropriate manager(s) any known or suspected violations of policies and procedures, regulations or standards of conduct

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm D) or MS in Pharmacy is preferred
  • Current applicable state licensure as a registered Pharmacist
  • Minimum 2 years Pharmacist experience in an acute care setting or 1 year recent experience in home infusion therapy
  • Experience in and strong knowledge of IV admixture services and IV drug therapy
  • Efficiency in CPR Plus is desired
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Capability of assuming responsibility for the evaluation and monitoring of drug therapy relative to the total needs of the home care patient in collaboration with doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
