Radiation Therapist
Position Summary:
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for delivering precise, compassionate radiation treatments following the Radiation Oncologist's prescription. Operating advanced treatment machines, the therapist ensures accurate patient positioning and safety while collaborating closely with clinical teams.
Technology and Equipment:
Operate state-of-the-art treatment bunkers equipped with TrueBeam and Radixact machines.
Utilize advanced imaging techniques including cone-beam CT (CBCT), helical fan-beam kVCT, and real-time motion synchronization technology.
Use the PerfectPitch 6 DoF couch for precise patient positioning.
Work with CT scanners and develop patient-specific positioning devices.
Responsibilities:
Provide accurate radiation therapy treatments while building supportive relationships with patients.
Collaborate with Radiation Oncologists, nurses, dosimetrists, physicists, and engineers to deliver safe and effective care.
Perform patient assessments and positioning according to prescribed treatment plans.
Monitor treatment machines, troubleshoot issues, and report malfunctions.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of radiation therapy principles, safety protocols, and equipment operation.
Qualifications:
Licensed Radiation Therapist (ARRT Certified) with licensure by the relevant state board.
Knowledge of radiation oncology theory, procedures, and equipment required.
Experience with CT imaging highly preferred.
Current BLS certification required.
