Job Description:
We're looking for a contract Associate Creative Director - Copywriter (Healthcare) to join a growing internal creative team supporting a major national healthcare brand. This role blends leadership with hands-on work-ideal for someone who thrives equally in mentoring creatives and crafting compelling healthcare marketing content.

This position is 75% hands-on copywriting and 25% creative leadership. You'll collaborate across multidisciplinary teams, developing strategic, high-impact messaging for a broad portfolio including Commercial, Group Medicare, and Medicaid lines of business.

The ideal candidate is a strong strategic thinker with expert-level writing chops, significant healthcare and health benefits experience, and a proven track record in B2B marketing.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop brand-right, strategically sound copy across channels including print, digital, video, and web.
  • Translate complex healthcare and insurance information into compelling, plain-language content.
  • Collaborate with designers, strategists, and other writers to deliver high-quality, on-brand work.
  • Guide and mentor junior creatives while maintaining hands-on involvement in project execution.
  • Ensure copy aligns with brand voice, tone, and compliance guidelines.
  • Participate in brainstorming, creative reviews, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Research and develop data-driven and persuasive messaging strategies.
  • Juggle multiple projects with attention to deadlines, accuracy, and quality.
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure marketing and business goals are met.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in creative writing, with a strong focus on healthcare and B2B marketing.
  • Portfolio of work samples required for consideration (links or attachments).
  • Deep understanding of the health insurance industry and employee benefits.
  • Proven experience adapting messaging across different media, platforms, and audiences.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and presentation skills.
  • Comfortable using AI tools for content refinement and proofreading.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 and knowledge of writing style guides (AP or Chicago Manual of Style).
  • Familiarity with legal/compliance considerations in healthcare marketing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in large, complex client organizations or in-house creative agencies.
  • Working knowledge of MRM tools like Workfront.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Creative Writing, or related field preferred.
